Colorado Mines 4, CSU-Pueblo 0
GOLDEN, Colo. - The ThunderWolves played the Colorado School of
Mines Orediggers tough Friday, but failed to cover one player,
Mines' all-American candidate, Kayla Mitchell, allowing four goals
from her foot alone as the Pack fell 4-0.
The match was practically even in many statistics, included the
shots category (12-10 in favor of Mines) as well as corner kicks
(four apiece), but it was Mitchell that gave the Pack fits.
She had six of the Orediggers' 12 shots and was the main
factor in the ThunderWolves' loss.
The loss drops CSU-Pueblo to 4-11-2 and 3-9-1 in RMAC play.
The Pack's shot at qualifying for the playoffs is very much
in jeopardy, as the Pack lies five points behind UC-Colorado
Springs for the sixth and final playoff spot in the RMAC. In
RMAC soccer standings, three points are awarded for a win and one
point for a tie.
CSU-Pueblo has three games remaining in its season, the next of
which sees the Pack return home for its final home game of the year
versus Fort Lewis at the Rawlings Soccer Complex.
