At the Mines Triangular Friday, Lauren Fairchild (Jr., McKinney, Tex.) established not only a personal best, but a new school record while leaping to an NCAA provisional mark in the long jump that ranks seventh in Division II this season.
She won the event with a leap of 5.93m (19' 5.5") that edged the old school record of 5.92m, set by recently inducted CSU-Pueblo Athletics Hall of Famer Danita Wyatt.
Last weekend she jumped 5.82m for a new indoor personal best, but Friday's mark was an indoor and outdoor best for the junior and ranks second best in the RMAC this season.
