Freshman Yoomin Archer "Minna", helped to pace the Pack women's golf team to a second place finish at the CSU Pueblo Pack Classic. Archer shot an opening round 2-over 74, followed up that performance by shooting an even-par 72 in Tuesday's final round to jump six spots up the leaderboard as she was tied for sixth after Monday's first round.
For the tournament, Kylie Severin and Archer were tied for second in birdies among the field of 78 players with six and those two combined for 45 pars as Archer had 23 and Severin finished with 22.
CSU Pueblo finished the two-day, 36-hole event with a final round score of 8-over par 296 to finish the tournament with a 23-over par score of 599. The Pack shot a 303 in Monday's opening round, so they improved by seven shots in Tuesday's final round. In addition, the 296 was the lowest round by a team for the tournament.
The Pack topped nationally-ranked foes No. 46 Simon Fraser, No. 50 Somona State and No. 31 Western Washington.
The Pack will next be in action on March 31 and April 1 as they compete at the Western New Mexico Intercollegiate, which is being held at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz. That will be the first of back-to-back tournaments in Arizona for the Pack as they compete on April 3-4 at the West Texas A&M Desert Invitational, which is being played at Ventana Canyon Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz.
