Garret Wild (Jr., Brownsville, Tex.) helped CSU Pueblo men's soccer secure a pair of wins in the RMAC Tournament, earning the Pack a spot in the RMAC Championship Saturday at Colorado Mesa.
Thursday, Wild and Co. defeated MSU Denver 5-2 behind five goals during second half of the RMAC Tournament Quarterfinal match at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
In the semifinal round, the Pack went on the road for a second time this season and beat ranked-Colorado School of Mines 2-0 and clinching their spot in the final.
Wild has made 54 saves this season and has earned a 0.59 goal-against average. He has registered 9 shutouts this year and a 0.831 save percentage.
Wild and the Pack defense rank fourth in Division II and have allowed 12 goals on the season.
Following the two wins, CSU Pueblo moved into the Top 25 and are No. 24 entering the week. They also sit fourth in the South Central Region and eighth in the all-important Super Region 4.
