Former Colorado State Pueblo women's lacrosse player Samantha LaBella will be entering her second season with the Pack women's lacrosse program as an assistant after joining the staff prior to the beginning of the 2023 season. 

As a player for the ThunderWolves from 2016-18, LaBella played in 46 games and made 43 starts as a defender. In her time with the Pack, she tallied 34 goals and added nine assists for 43 career points. She also recorded 45 career shots and put 40 of those shots on goal. LaBella also recorded 77 ground balls, caused 41 turnovers and had 32 draw controls. 

LaBalla was a 2019 Magna Cum Laude graduate from CSU Pueblo with an Engineering degree with an emphasis in mechatronics. She was a member of the CSU Pueblo Honors Program, a member of CSU Pueblo's Society of Women Engineers and was a member of the Dean's List from January 2016-May 2019. 

After graduating from CSU Pueblo in 2019, LaBella began working as a Civil Engineer with the UDSA Forest Service.

As a freshman in 2016, she played in all 16 games and made 15 starts and led the Pack offensive players with a 77.4 shooting percentage. She scored 24 goals on 29 shots and also totaled eight assists and 32 points. Ranked eighth in the RMAC with a 2.50 ground balls average per game and matched a school record with nine ground ball against Oklahoma Baptist. On the season, she netted at least one goal in 15 of her 16 games and picked up a ground ball in all 16 games. 

During her sophomore season in 2017, she was named to the RMAC's Academic Honor Roll as she recorded nine goals on 11 shots and totaled 10 points with nine goals and an assist. Also had 11 ground balls and six draw controls and forced seven turnovers. 

In her junior season in 2018, LaBella played in 15 games and made 14 starts and had one goal on three shots, including two shots on goal. She also recorded 26 ground balls, caused 19 turnovers and had three draw controls and was named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.

The Pleasanton, Calif., native was named a US Lacrosse and LaxPower High School Academic All-American in high schol at Amador Valley. She was a First-Team All-EBAL Defender and helped lead Amador Valley reach the NCS Championship game.Â
