In early 2022, Colorado State University Pueblo Vice President for Athletics and Strategic Partnerships Dr. Paul Plinske announced Rashad Harris as the Director of Sport Performance. 

As the Director of Sport Performance, Harris works with all the CSU Pueblo programs. He prescribes work out regimens and nutrition plans for Pack student-athletes.

The Director of Sport Performance position replaced the Director of Strength & Conditioning position. 

Harris comes to the Pack from Gateway High School in Aurora, Colo. where he was the Director of Sport Performance from 2021 to his hiring in 2022. He also served as an Director of Sports Performance for Arkansas at Pine Bluff from 2019 to 2021. He brings 17 seasons of experience in Division I athletics as a player and strength and conditioning coach. 

In his time at Pine Bluff, Harris worked with 10 difference sports which included football. 

Harris worked with University of Florida’s football team from 2015-17 as the Assistant Director for Strength and Conditioning. This was after a one-season stint at Alabama A&M University as the head strength and conditioning coach for football and basketball. 

Harris began his professional career as a Graduate Assistant for Michigan State University and served from 2004-05 and then went on to Saint Xavier High School (2006-11) followed by Colorado State Univeristy from 2012-14. 

He has strength and conditioning certifications from both the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA).

Before he began his career in sports performance, Harris graduated from the University of Louisville where he played linebacker from 1997 to 2000. He played in the Motor City Bowl, the Humanitarian Bowl and the Liberty Bowl as a player. After college, Harris pursued a professional career where he was a member with the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars. Harris then played overseas with the Barcelona Dragons as part of the NFL Europe. 

As a strength and conditioning coach, Harris had three teams participate in a bowl game and was also a part of the SWAC Championship appearing Pine Bluff team in 2021 and SEC Championship participant 2015 and 2017 Florida teams.
