Chuck Alexander enters his fourth year as a part-time assistant coach with Coach Vigil and the ThunderWolves football program.
Alexander primarily assists with the nickel position while also serving as Chaplain for the coaching staff, supporting coaches and players throughout the program.
Alexander’s football journey began at Arlington High School in Arlington, Texas, where he was a two-time All-District selection at free safety. He continued his playing career as a walk-on at Texas Tech University.

Over his four years with the Red Raiders, Alexander earned a football scholarship and was recognized as an Academic All-American and walk-on All-American during the 1983 Southwest Conference season.
After his college playing career, Coach Alexander, who is also known as "Doc" to the Pack, went to dental school to become an Orthodontist. After starting a practice in Montrose, Colorado, Alexander started helping with the Montrose High School football program in 2005.
Under the direction of Coach Todd Casebier, Alexander served as defensive backs coach and defensive coordinator for the Montrose Indians. During that 15-year run, the program made 12 playoff appearances, won six league championships, and finished as the state runner-up in 2013.
Alexander’s connection with Coach Vigil began through his son, Mac Alexander, who served as an assistant head coach, special teams coordinator, and defensive backs coach at CSU Pueblo from 2023–25. That relationship eventually brought Alexander into the ThunderWolves program.
He and his wife, Keri, have been married for 40 years and together, they have three adult children and four grandchildren.
One of Alexander’s greatest honors is the opportunity to work alongside a coach he describes as a man of knowledge, integrity, and commitment to winning the right way—by building boys into young men.
