PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo Vice President for Athletics and Strategic Partnerships Dr. Paul Plinske and Head Baseball Coach Bobby Applegate have announced the addition of Pablo Arevalo to the ThunderWolves’ Baseball Coaching Staff.
Arevalo joins the Pack after a collegiate career and a professional playing career in both the Pioneer and Frontier League.
From Coach Applegate: “Pablo comes to us after competing in professional baseball. He brings great enthusiasm and experience to our pitching staff” said Applegate. “He adds solid insight to our pitcher’s development. He will be instrumental in developing throwing programs and bullpen routines. He has been a great addition to our program thus far.”
Arevalo is coming off a two and a half year stint of pitching in MLB Partner Independent Baseball. In the 2021 season, Arevalo pitched in Quebec, Canada for Equipe Quebec and in Florence, Kentucky for the Florence Y’alls, both of the Frontier League.
In 2022-23, Arevalo pitched in the Pioneer League for the Great Falls Voyagers, Ogden Raptors, and Billings Mustangs.
A successful collegiate career for Arevalo began at Barry University in 2016 where we was a Starting & Relief Pitcher for the Buccaneers, making 17 starts, 29 relief appearance, and 120 innings pitched.
In January of 2021, Arevalo started as a grad transfer at Keiser University in West Palm Beach, Fl. In two years pitching for the Seahawks he had many accolades including 10 complete games, 118 k’s, and a 1.50 ERA in 126 innings. In addition, Arevalo also won a Regional Championship in 2021, in which he was the MVP of the New Orleans Regional. That same year his team was the Runner-Up in the NAIA College World Series.
In addition to his playing, Arevalo does have coaching experience. Arevalo served as a Pitching Coach for Rivera Prep High School in Lakeland, Fl. in 2021.
In 2022, Arevalo served as a Pitching Coach for Montana State University-Billings.
Arevalo, a Miami, Fl. native, received his bachelor’s degree in communications & public relations in 2020 from Barry University, and is currently working on his master’s degree in leadership & management from Keiser University.
