Romero joins the Pack coaching staff for the 2019 season after two successful seasons as the ThunderWolves' primary catcher.

Over those two seasons, Romero recorded a .455 on base percentage and hit .333. Romero walked 32 times as a senior, fifth-most in the RMAC. He hit a career-best 12 doubles and scored a career-best 30 runs. Romero caught 13 baserunners stealing in 2018. He owned a .989 fielding percentage for the second consecutive season.

As a junior, Romero shared the team lead with 39 RBIs. In his first season with the Pack, Romero ranked eighth in the RMAC with a .464 on-base percentage. The Pack's backstop hit .358 with 10 extra base knocks. He belted two dingers and seven doubles. Romero clubbed his first CSU-Pueblo home run and drove in four runs to lead the Pack to a 13-4 win over UCCS (Feb. 10). Defensively, Romero gunned down 13 runners and posted a .989 fielding percentage behind the plate.

After his playing days with the Pack came to an end, Romero suited up for the Santa Fe Fuego of the Pecos League. Romero hit .315 in his first season of professional baseball. He scored 35 runs in 37 games as a rookie. Romero drew 26 walks to post a .433 on base percentage.
