Pueblo South High School: Batted .464 over his three seasons with Pueblo South High School... Earned All-City League honors at third base as a junior and received First Team honors again behind the plate as a senior... Claimed an All-State Honorable Mention recognition in his final season with the Colts... Hit .507 and plated 39 runs as a junior. During his sophomore campaign, he hit four home runs in 16 games and slugged a career-best .803. Drew 35 walks as opposed to just 14 strikeouts en route to posting a .543 on base percentage. Drove in 87 runs and smashed 22 doubles in his three seasons with the Colts.
