IMPORTANT: If you currently are involved in an athletic program at another four-year institution, YOU MUST GET A RELEASE FROM YOUR CURRENT HEAD COACH before participating in athletics at another institution! Without a release, a head coach from CSU-Pueblo or any other NCAA institution is not allowed to speak to you about joining their team. If a coach does this without a release from your current head coach, HE/SHE HAS COMMITTED AN NCAA VIOLATION!
To get a release, speak to your current head coach and tell him/her of your intention to play intercollegiate athletics at another University. A head coach IS NOT REQUIRED to grant your release and can ask you where you plan to play as a condition of granting the release. Even in the event that you fully transfer to another institution, you CANNOT PLAY YOUR SPORT without a release from your prior head coach.
Once you obtain a release, ask the compliance director to contact CSU-Pueblo Compliance Director, Jackie Wallgren, at (719) 549-2021. Once the release is received by CSU-Pueblo, CSU-Pueblo coaches are allowed to speak to you about transferring to CSU-Pueblo.
If you transfer from a two-year or four-year college to an NCAA school, you must satisfy certain requirements before being eligible to participate in athletics at that college.
Different schools have different requirements for incoming transfers, and CSU-Pueblo is no different. Just because you are currently eligible at your current University is no guarantee you will be eligible at CSU-Pueblo or any other institution.
