No. 25 ThunderWolves Cap Off Historic 2025-26 Campaign With 16th Place Finish At 2026 National Championship

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - The No. 25 ranked Colorado State University Pueblo women's golf team wrapped up its historic 2025-26 campaign Wednesday afternoon at the NCAA Division II National Championships at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., as the ThunderWolves concluded the third and final round of stroke play against one of the toughest fields in Division II golf.

Competing on the difficult PGA National Resort layout, CSU Pueblo carded a final-round team score of 34-over-par 322 to close out the national championship. Over the three-day event, the ThunderWolves posted rounds of 318, 316 and 322 while battling the demanding South Florida course conditions.

The Pack once again showed resilience in the final round, placing three golfers under 80 on the day.

Freshman standout Thale Victoria Estensen capped off an incredible rookie campaign by leading the ThunderWolves at the national championship, finishing tied for 53rd place overall at 19-over-par for the tournament. Estensen closed her week with a final-round 79.

The ThunderWolves also said goodbye to senior captain Freya Constable, who wrapped up one of the most accomplished careers in program history. The Scottish senior finished tied for 57th place at 20-over-par after carding a final-round 79 in the final collegiate round of her career.

Junior Lisa Ekberg closed another strong season in ThunderWolves red and blue with a final-round 79 of her own. Ekberg delivered one of the highlights of the tournament for CSU Pueblo on the par-4 fourth hole, holing out from the fairway for an eagle two on the 330-yard hole.

Olivia Heard concluded her first season with the ThunderWolves by posting an 85 in the final round, while Sinead Ni Cheilleachair carded an 87 to finish her tournament.

Yale Lee, who battled illness throughout the national championship week, was able to gut out a round during the tournament to help the ThunderWolves finish out the season.

The 2025-26 season will go down as one of the greatest in program history for CSU Pueblo. The ThunderWolves captured a school-record six tournament victories during the season and secured their fourth consecutive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship.

CSU Pueblo also navigated significant adversity throughout the year after bringing in interim head coach John Wristen midway through the season, but the ThunderWolves responded with one of the best years the program has ever seen, showcasing resilience and consistency throughout the spring campaign.

Despite losing Constable, the ThunderWolves are expected to return the majority of their lineup next season as the Pack looks to continue building off its first-ever appearance at the NCAA Division II National Championships.

Constable leaves CSU Pueblo as one of the most decorated players in program history, earning All-RMAC honors in each of her first three seasons and now awaiting the possibility of a fourth all-conference selection following another standout senior campaign.

The top eight teams following stroke play advanced to the match play portion of the NCAA Division II National Championships. Wingate University earned the No. 1 overall seed, followed by Dallas Baptist University, St. Mary's University, University of Findlay, Anderson University, California State University San Marcos, University of Tampa and University of Missouri–St. Louis.
