Track And Field Set To Host Outdoor RMAC Championships In Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. - Colorado State University Pueblo is set to welcome the conference's top talent this weekend as the ThunderWolves host the 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl, running Friday through Sunday, April 24–26.

The championship returns to Southern Colorado following a historic year for the venue, as the ThunderBowl served as the host site of the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. The facility once again takes center stage, bringing together student-athletes from across the RMAC to compete for conference titles and postseason positioning.

Colorado State Pueblo enters the weekend with strong momentum, highlighted by a deep group of NCAA provisional qualifiers on both the men's and women's sides who rank among the nation's best.

On the men's side, Caleb McLeod leads the charge, sitting third nationally in the 800-meter run and ninth in the 1500 meters. Tim Anstett adds depth in the 800 meters, ranking 20th in the nation. Distance standout Jon Sweepe holds the 15th-best mark in the 1500 meters and ranks 10th nationally in the 5000 meters. In the field events, Xavier Freeman has emerged as one of the premier throwers in Division II, currently sitting third in the nation in the shot put, while Ian Thomas adds to the ThunderWolves' field strength with a 31st-place national ranking in the javelin.

The ThunderWolves' women's squad brings equally impressive credentials into the weekend. Helen Braybrook headlines the group as one of the top middle-distance runners in the country, ranking second nationally in the 1500 meters and third in the 800 meters. Charlotte Young also ranks among the nation's elite, sitting 10th in the 800 meters and 16th in the 1500 meters, while Jadyn Herron checks in at 13th nationally in the 800 meters and 15th in the 1500 meters.

In the field events, Febe Wessels ranks fourth in the nation in the shot put, while Keturah Templeman sits 15th nationally in the javelin. Multi-event standout Mary Scoggins rounds out the group with a 32nd-place national ranking in the heptathlon.

Action begins Friday morning with the start of the men's decathlon and women's heptathlon, highlighted by the 100-meter dash and 100-meter hurdles, respectively. Multi-event competition continues into the afternoon, setting the tone for a full weekend of championship-caliber performances.

Saturday features a packed schedule across both track and field, beginning at 8:00 a.m. with the men's 10,000-meter final. Preliminary heats in sprint events, hurdles, and middle-distance races will determine Sunday's finalists, while field events—including shot put, discus, long jump, and pole vault—will run throughout the day.

Championship Sunday will showcase the conference's best in a full slate of finals, starting with the 4x100-meter relays at 11:00 a.m. and culminating in the 4x400-meter relays in the afternoon. The weekend will conclude with the awards presentation at 4:00 p.m., honoring team champions and standout individual performers.

Fans planning to attend can purchase tickets through the RMAC's partnership with Hudl Tickets. All tickets will be delivered digitally, allowing for seamless entry via QR code at the gates.

For those unable to attend in person, every event of the championship will be streamed live on the RMAC Network, with subscription and pay-per-view options available.

With a proven championship venue, national-level talent on both sides, and a full weekend of elite competition ahead, Pueblo is once again set to serve as a premier destination for track & field in the Rocky Mountain region.
