DENVER, Colo. (March 9, 2026) - The Colorado State University Pueblo softball team put on a clinical performance Monday afternoon, dismantling Regis in a doubleheader to complete a four-game series sweep.
Combining explosive hitting with two masterful complete-game pitching performances, the ThunderWovles' pitching staff led the way and allowed just two runs across the two games to improve the Pack's record to 13-9 overall and 9-3 in RMAC play.
Game 1: CSU Pueblo 5, Regis 0
In the first game,
McKenna James (Sr., Windsor, Colo.) delivered a masterful complete-game shutout. James was in total control from the circle, scattering five hits and striking out six to secure the win.
The Pack offense provided immediate support, plating two runs in the first inning following RBI singles from
Cali Cole (So., Merced, Calif.) and James.
Darleen Falcon (Sr., Moreno Valley, Calif.) extended the lead in the third with an RBI double, and
Caitlyn Cole (Sr., Merced, Calif.) punctuated the performance with a solo home run in the sixth. A final insurance run crossed the plate in the seventh on a passed ball to cap the scoring.
James levels her record to 6-6 on the year.
Game 2: CSU Pueblo 11, Regis 2 (6 inn.)
The ThunderWolves' offense exploded in the series finale, plating three runs in both the first and second innings to jump out to a commanding 6-0 lead.
Gissel Morales-Cermeno (Jr., Houston, Tex.) provided the early highlight, launching a two-run home run to right field in the second frame.
Eva Miller-Sanchez (Fr., Denver, Colo.) moved to 2-2 on the year and was dominant in her start, tossing 6.0 innings to earn the victory. She stifled the Rangers' bats, racking up eight strikeouts and allowing only two runs on five hits.
Caitlyn Cole (Sr., Merced, Calif.) led the charge at the plate, finishing 2-for-4 with a double and a triple. James added two doubles and an RBI, while
Emma Case (Jr., Loveland, Colo.) drove in three runs to help secure teh run-rule win.

The ThunderWolves look to carry this momentum into another RMAC road series later this week. The Pack will travel to Alamosa, Colo., to face Adams State in a four-game series set scheduled for March 13-14.
