PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo held steady in this week's latest AFCA Division II Coaches Poll, presented by GoRout Gridiron and D2Football.com Media Poll that were released Monday morning.
In this season's sixth weekly national Division II football poll, the ThunderWolves, who are 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference after gaining a school record 827 yards of offense in its 72-7 road win on Saturday over Adams State, remained ranked No. 4 and No. 6 respectively by the AFCA and D2Football.com.
The Pack received 672 points in this week's AFCA Coaches' Poll to sit 32 points behind No. 3 Kutztown (5-0), who received 704 points after earning a 59-7 win over Shippensburg this past Saturday and 21 points in front of No. 5 Minnesota State (6-0), who earned a 49-7 win over Concordia-St. Paul this past Saturday. In the D2Football.com poll, the Pack remained at No. 6 and is just behind No. 5 Grand Valley State (5-0) and in front of No. 7 Western Colorado (6-0), who improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in RMAC play with a 52-24 road win this past Saturday against New Mexico Highlands. In the preseason polls, the Pack was ranked sixth in the AFCA poll and 10th in the D2Football.com poll.
CSU Pueblo and Western Colorado are the only two RMAC schools ranked in this week's latest national polls as Western Colorado is ranked No. 7 in both the AFCA and D2Football.com polls. Additionally, one of the Pack's previous opponents – Central Missouri (4-1) moved into this week's AFCA poll at No. 24 and jumped two spots to No. 19 in the D2Football.com poll. One RMAC school, South Dakota Mines (5-1 overall, 3-1 RMAC) earned one vote in this week's AFCA poll following its 30-16 road win on Saturday over Fort Lewis College.
Nine of the Top 25 teams ranked in this week's AFCA Coaches poll are from Super Region Four, including four teams from the super region ranked inside the Top 10.
The top two teams remained the same in both the AFCA and D2Football.com polls as Ferris State (5-0) and Harding (5-0) are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 respectively in both polls. In addition to Ferris State and Harding, the AFCA has Kutztown (Pa.) (5-0) at No. 3, CSU Pueblo at No. 4 and Minnesota State at No. 5, while D2Football.com has Minnesota State at No. 3, Kutztown at No. 4 and Grand Valley State at No. 5.
CSU Pueblo, who has a bye week this coming Saturday, will look to remain undefeated on the season as they return to action on Saturday, Oct. 17 with a 2 p.m. Homecoming 2026 and Hall of Fame game in the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl against New Mexico Highlands (3-3 overall, 1-3 RMAC). The Pack enters the game having won 15 straight regular season games dating to last season's 36-35 home setback to Fort Hays State, and 29 consecutive conference games dating to the 2023 season, which is the longest active conference win streak in Division II football.
