LUBBOCK, Tex. (September 8, 2025) - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team dropped a 4-1 nonconference decision to Lubbock Christian University on Monday afternoon at the LCU Soccer & Track Complex.
The ThunderWolves (1-1-1) were tested early by the Lady Chaps' attack but held firm behind several key stops from freshman goalkeeper
Alva Hellenius (Stockholm, Sweden). Despite the defensive effort, Lubbock Christian broke through in the 21st minute on a goal from Ella Spiller, assisted by Kali Guy. The hosts added two more tallies before halftime to carry a 3-0 lead into the break.
Hellenius finished the day with eight saves in 76 minutes of action before being relived by freshman goalkeeper
Miya Begay (Fr., West Valley City, Utah). LCU extended its advantage in the 81st minute when LCU found the back of the net again.
CSU Pueblo battled until the final whistle and was rewarded in the 89th minute as
Kenna Snyder (Fr., Edmond, Okla.) converted a penalty kick for her first goal of her career, securing the ThunderWolves' lone score of the contest.
The Pack was outshot 17-5 but placed three attempts on target, highlighted by shots from Snyder,
Cameron Farthing (Sr., Coventry, England) and
Mara Ganje (Sr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.).
CSU Pueblo will look to bounce back when it returns home this week and opens the home portion of the schedule on Thursday versus No. 18 Angelo State. Kickoff against the Rams is set for 6 p.m. at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
