ThunderWolves settle for 2-2 draw against Western Colorado in RMAC Opener

PUEBLO, Colo. (Sept. 26, 2025) – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team opened Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play Friday night at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium with a 2-2 draw against Western Colorado.

The ThunderWolves (1-3-3, 0-0-1 RMAC) struck first midway through the opening half when the Mountaineers tallied an own goal in the 25th minute, giving CSU Pueblo the early advantage.

In the second half, the Pack doubled their lead in the 81st minute as Abby Menk (Jr., Delano, Minn.) scored her second goal of the season off an assist from Maya Bethelmie (Fr., Waltham Forest, England), making it 2-0 with less than 10 minutes remaining.

Western Colorado (0-7-1, 0-0-1 RMAC) battled back late, scoring twice in the final five minutes to stun the home side. Western cut the deficit in half with a strike in the 86th minute before scoring the equalizer at the 89:33 mark.

CSU Pueblo finished with 14 total shots, including six on target. Kenna Snyder (Fr., Edmond, Okla.) paced the ThunderWolves with a team-high five shots, while Carlia Johnson (R-Sr., The Valley, Anguilla) added three. Goalkeeper Miya Begay (Fr., West Valley City, Utah) made three second-half saves in her 90 minutes of action.

The ThunderWolves were whistled for 11 fouls and received one yellow card, while Western Colorado finished with three fouls and one yellow.

Up Next: CSU Pueblo begins a four-match road swing on Thursday, Oct. 2, when they travel to Regis for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
