PUEBLO, Colo. (Sept. 21, 2025) — Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer dropped a 2-0 decision Sunday afternoon at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium against Emporia State. The ThunderWolves move to 1-3-2 overall as they wrapped up nonconference play.
The Hornets struck early in the 14th minute when Ella Favot found the back of the net for a 1-0 advantage. CSU Pueblo pushed for a response and created a pair of looks midway through the half, including efforts from Caytlynn Garland (Jr., Gillette, Wyo.) and Mara Ganje (Sr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.), but both attempts went wide as the Pack trailed heading into halftime.
In the second half, Emporia State doubled its lead in the 70th minute on a goal from Avery Zimmerman, sealing the contest. The ThunderWolves battled to generate chances late, highlighted by shots from Jenna Elledge (Fr., Farmington, NM), Ruthie Landwehr (Fr., Enumclaw, Wash.) and Kenna Snyder (Fr., Edmond, Okla.), but were unable to break through.
CSU Pueblo finished with seven total shots, including one on target. Emporia State outshot the Pack 12-7 and held an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.
In goal, Alva Hellenius (Fr., Stockholm, Sweden) worked the full 90 minutes and recorded four saves while facing 12 shots.
The Pack will now turn their attention to Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.
