LUBBOCK, Texas (Sept. 12, 2025) – The Colorado State University Pueblo volleyball team kept its hot streak alive on Friday at the Lubbock Christian Invitational, defeating Eastern New Mexico in straight sets before downing Southwestern Oklahoma State in four. The ThunderWolves' pair of wins extended their win streak to four straight matches and moved them above .500 on the season at 4–3.
In the opener, the Pack controlled the tempo against Eastern New Mexico, taking the match 25–23, 26–24, 25–19. Senior outside hitter Caelyn Gunn powered the offense with 16 kills on a .289 hitting percentage, while middle blocker Elena Stankovic added five kills and hit a blistering .434. Libero Megan Mattingly anchored the defense with 21 digs and chipped in two service aces, including a late run in set two that swung momentum firmly in Pueblo's favor.
The nightcap saw the ThunderWolves battle past Southwestern Oklahoma State 25–23, 25–21, 19–25, 25–19. Gunn again led the attack with 17 kills, while Taylor Cary added 13 kills on a .259 clip. Setter Finja Schul guided the offense with 17 assists and added 11 digs for a double-double. Mattingly was again steady in the back row with 18 digs, and Chinaru Inoue contributed 12 digs as the Pack defense stymied the Bulldogs' late pushes.
After dropping the third set, CSU Pueblo responded in emphatic fashion, hitting .286 in the fourth frame to close out the match. Schul and Lilly Zwart combined for several key blocks, helping the Pack to six team rejections.
Across the two matches, Gunn posted 33 kills, while Mattingly collected 39 digs, underscoring the ThunderWolves' balance between firepower and defensive grit.
CSU Pueblo returns to the court Saturday to wrap up play at the Lubbock Christian Invitational, taking on the host Chaps, looking to build further momentum heading into Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.
