Baseball Remains Fourth in Latest NCAA Division II South Central Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – In the final weekly NCAA Division II South Central Regional baseball rankings, Colorado State University Pueblo remains ranked No. 4 in this week's third edition of the regional rankings that were released Wednesday afternoon. The NCAA regional rankings are annually used to determine the teams that qualify for the NCAA Division II Baseball Championships.

Wednesday's edition of the regional rankings was third and final before the unveiling of the 56-team tournament field, which is set for 10 p.m. ET online at www.NCAA.com on Sunday, May 11. Each set of rankings includes all games played through this past Sunday.

Four of the eight regionally ranked teams in the South Central Regional hail from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference as Colorado Mesa (36-11 D-II, 33-11 in-region) is No. 3, while Regis (34-14 D-II, 31-13 in-region) remains at No. 5 and MSU Denver (30-20 D-II, 28-18 in-region) moves into the rankings at No. 8. The other four teams in the rankings are from the Lone Star Conference as Angelo State (39-7 D-II, 39-7 in-region) is No. 1, UT-Tyler (43-9 D-II, 43-9 in-region) is No. 2, St. Edward's (33-18 D-II, 33-18 in-region) is No. 6, and Lubbock Christian (33-19 D-II, 31-19 in-region) remains at No. 7.

The Pack, who finished third in the regular season RMAC standings, is currently sporting a 32-19 overall record and has a 30-19 in-region record and is 9-14 against teams current regionally ranked teams as they 1-1 against Lubbock Christian, 2-2 against Regis, 2-3 against MSU Denver and 1-3 against Colorado Mesa and is 2-2 against West Region No. 1 Northwest Nazarene and 1-3 against West Region No. 6 MSU-Billings.

The top six teams from the South Central Region in the final rankings will earn a spot in this year's NCAA Division II Baseball Championships as the South Central Regional Championships will feature two automatic qualifiers – the tournament champions from the RMAC and LSC – and four at-large selections from the final regional rankings.

Following the completion of the conference tournaments, 56 teams from a total of eight regions will advance to the 2025 NCAA Division II Baseball Championships. Per the NCAA, teams will participate at regional sites in a double-elimination tournament. The 16 teams advancing from regional competition will participate in a two-team, best-of-three super regional at eight sites. The South Central Regional will feature two three-team regional sites.

CSU Pueblo, who opened the RMAC Tournament with a 15-10 loss on Wednesday against No. 4 seeded MSU Denver and will look to remain alive in the double elimination tournament with a 3 p.m. game on Thursday, May 8 in Grand Junction, Colo., against top-seeded and 16th-ranked Colorado Mesa, who opened tournament with a 9-3 win Wednesday against No. 6 seeded UCCS.

The Pack is seeking its 11th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2015 this season. The Pack is 11-20 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, including advancing to the NCAA Division II World Series in 1996 after winning the West Regional on its home field.
