In Sunday's game, the Pack scored four runs in the first, added three runs in the second and put the game away in the fourth inning as they sent 13 hitters to the plate and scored 10 runs to take a 17-0 lead after four innings of play. The Pack would add two more runs in the sixth to cap the scoring.
The Pack offense finished the day with 21 hits, including seven extra hits. Three of extra bats hits were single-game school record tying three doubles by Castaneda, while Borjas hit two of the Pack's four home runs in the contest. The 21 hits were the second most in a game this season by the Pack, while the 19 runs were the fourth-most in a game this season.
Castaneda had a Senior Day to remember as he was 5-for-5 with three runs scored and 3 RBI, while Borjas was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and 5 RBI. For the series, those two combined to go 17-for-28 (.607) at the plate with 11 runs, eight doubles, two home runs, and 17 RBI, including 14 by Borjas. In addition to Castaneda, Ingalls went 3-for-4, while Reginato, Mansour, King and Howard each had two hits and combined for 10 runs and 7 RBI. In fact, every starter recorded at least one hit with the exception of Porter, who was 0-for-2 with a walk.
The Pack jumped in front 1-0 in the bottom of the first on an RBI double to left by Castaneda and used a
Borjas RBI ground out to take a 2-0 lead and Castaneda scored the third run on a wild pitch by Joseph Marek to push out to a 3-0 lead and added a fourth run later in the frame on an RBI single to right center by
Ingalls.
Castaneda added the Pack's fifth run of the game on his RBI single to left in the bottom of second to give the
ThunderWolves a 5-0 edge. After Castaneda was picked off at second,
Borjas drilled a 2-1 pitch over the wall in right center for a solo home run to give the Pack a 6-0 lead and Howard added the Pack's seventh run of the game on his single through the right side that plated King, who drew a walk and moved to second on a wild pitch.
In the bottom of the fourth, Castaneda led off with a double and scored one batter later when Borjas made it 9-0 on his 2-run homer over the wall in left center. Carter's homer chased Perry from the game and brought
Saso into the game. The Grizzlies would get two more runs in the inning on solo homers by Christian Altamirano and Chris Gracia to drop the Pack's lead to 17-3.
