Softball close out regular season at CCU

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (April 26, 2025) - The Colorado State University Pueblo softball team dropped its final two games of the regular seasons to the hands of Colorado Christian, falling 4-0 in game one and 6-0 in the series finale.

For the day, CSU Pueblo registered three hits. Delaney Barela (5th., Pueblo, Colo.), Caitlyn Cole (Jr., Merced, Calif.) and Tori Cordova (Sr., Pueblo West, Colo.) each recorded a hit.

In game one, CCU starting pitcher Emma Duncan limited the ThunderWolves offense to just two hits in the sixth and seventh innings and was effective in picking up her 18th win of the season.

For the Pack, McKenna James (Jr., Windsor, Colo.) drops to 12-12 on the year.

In the series finale, the Cougars scored the first run of the game in the first inning and a pitcher's dual between the Pack's Mia Sanchez (Fr., Los Angeles, Calif.) and CCU's Elyse McMullin ensued.

The duo were both solid in the circle and Sanchez held the Cougars to two hits through five innings before CCU scored five runs on seven hits before a pitching change for the Pack.

Marissa Reza (Jr., Denver, Colo.) was called on in relief with one out and she was able to retire the side.

In their last at bat, CSU Pueblo was retired in order, ending the game 6-0.

Sanchez takes the loss and drops to 11-7 on the year.
