BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The Colorado State University Pueblo Women's Golf Team wrapped up day one of the 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Championships in third place after posting a strong opening round score of 5-over-par, 293. The championships are being held at Boulder Creek Golf Club, which will also host the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships next month.
The ThunderWolves, who entered the tournament as the favorites and are the only nationally ranked team in the RMAC, trail co-leaders Colorado Christian and Westminster University by just two strokes, as both teams carded rounds of 3-over-par, 291.
Leading the way for CSU Pueblo was sophomore Swedish standout Lisa Ekberg, who continues to build her case for RMAC Player of the Year honors with an impressive 2-under-par 70, sitting in second place individually. Fifth-year senior and first-year ThunderWolf Alyssa McMillan also turned in a stellar performance, finishing one shot back with a 1-under-par 71, to sit in a tie for third individually.
European talent Freya Constable, another RMAC Player of the Year candidate, posted a solid 2-over-par 74, while Pueblo native Zoe Rodriguez shot a 6-over-par 78. English freshman golfer Yale Lee also carded a 78. One of the 78's was dropped from the team total.
Boulder Creek is playing tough this week, with typical high desert winds impacting scoring. The course is set at 6,000 yards and is in prime condition ahead of next month's national championship event.
The ThunderWolves will look to close the gap in round two as play resumes tomorrow with tee times beginning at 11 a.m. Fans can follow the live action via the clippd-powered scoreboard.
