PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo women's lacrosse closed out its 2025 season here Saturday afternoon with a 20-5 setback to Colorado Mesa in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action on Senior Day at ALG Stadium.
Prior to Saturday's game, the Pack honored its two seniors in a pregame ceremony. This year's seniors were goalie
Naomi Price-Burton (Aurora, Colo./Grandview) and midfielder
Sophia Rinn (Eagle, Colo./Eagle Valley).
With Saturday's setback, the ThunderWolves close the 2025 campaign with a 2-12 overall record and a 2-8 mark in the league, while Colorado Mesa clinched a share of the regular season RMAC title as they improved to 10-5 overall and 9-1 in the RMAC. The two RMAC wins are the most for the program since going 3-9 in league play during the 2022 season.
Despite the setback, the Pack set a new single-season school record for saves with 204, which bettered old team season record of 191 set during the 2018 season. Sophomore goalie
Breonna Mason (Colorado Springs, Colo./Air Academy) finished with a single-season school record 194 saves, while Price-Burton tallied 10 saves on the season. Mason's 194 saves bettered the old school mark of 154, which Mason tied last season with Ane Maria Horton, who also had 154 saves in 2018.
In addition to setting a new single-season record for saves, Mason also finished the season with 53 ground balls, which is fourth on the school's single-season chart. Mason currently leads the RMAC in saves (194), saves per game (13.86), ground balls (53), and ground balls per game (3.79).
The Pack offense, which was held five games against the Mavericks, was paced by two goals each from freshman attacker
Moira Turpen (Newberg, Ore./Newberg) and sophomore midfielder
Reese Wasmund (Portland, Ore./West Linn). Turpen's two goals pushed her season total to 33, which is tied for seventh on the school's single-season chart. Turpen's 33 goals are the most for a Pack player in a season since Emily Eller scored a school season record 40 goals in 2021.
The other goal for the Pack was scored by sophomore attacker
Clara Drinkwater (North Kingstown, R.I./North Kingstown). Freshman
Emily Doane (Lake Forest, Calif./El Toro) had two assists to push her season total to 14, which is tops on the team and tied for seventh on the school's single-season chart.
