Football Closes 2025 Season Ranked No. 11 and No. 14 in Final AFCA Coaches and D2Football.com Polls

PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado State University Pueblo football program closes out the 2025 season ranked in the Top 15 nationally in both of this season's final AFCA Division II Coaches and D2Football.com polls that were released Monday following the conclusion of the 2025 season.
 
In this year's final Division II football polls, the ThunderWolves, who finished the season with a 10-2 overall record, ended the season ranked No. 11 in the final AFCA Division II Coaches' Poll presented by Hudl and ranked No. 14 in the final D2Football.com Media poll.

The Pack, who are coached by Philip Vigil, received 413 points in the final AFCA poll to sit 27 points behind No. 10 Indianapolis (11-2), who lost 35-27 in the second round of the NCAA Playoffs to Minnesota Sate, and four points in front of No. 12 Western Colorado (10-3), who fell in overtime the second round of the NCAA Playoffs at home to UT-Permian Basin (21-15). 

CSU Pueblo's No. 11 ranking marks the second consecutive season that the Pack football program finished ranked in the Top 12 of the final AFCA Division II Coaches Poll as they finished the 2024 season ranked No. 8 in the final poll. 

The Pack are one of three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schools ranked in the final AFCA poll of the 2025 season as Western Colorado (10-3) ends the season ranked No. 12 as they earned 409 points, while Chadron State (8-4), who lost 21-17 in the first round of the NCAA Playoffs at Pittsburg State ends the season ranked No. 23 as the Eagles earned 109 points. 

Meanwhile, in the final D2Football.com poll of the 2025 season, the Pack is ranked No. 14 after being ranked No. 6 in the final regular season poll. In the final D2Football.com poll, the Pack is behind No. 13 Central Washington (10-2), who lost in the first round of the NCAA Playoffs at home to Western Colorado (27-20) and in front of No. 15 Ashland (10-3), who fell in the second round of the NCAA playoffs at Ferris State (56-24).

The Pack were one of three RMAC schools ranked in the final D2Football.com poll as Western Colorado closed the season ranked No. 11 and Chadron State was ranked No. 18.
 
Ferris State (15-1), who captured its second consecutive and fourth NCAA Division II title in the last five years this past Saturday with a 42-21 win over Harding (15-1) sits atop both of the final polls of the season. In the final AFCA poll, Ferris State earned 750 points and all 30 first place votes. Harding, who was the national runner-up, closes the season ranked No. 2 in both polls, while Kutztown (14-1), who lost in the semifinals of the NCAA Playoffs at home to Harding (49-27) is ranked third in the AFCA poll, while Newberry (12-2), who lost at Ferris State (49-17) in the semifinals, is ranked fourth and UT-Permian Basin (11-3), who fell to Harding (34-28) in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Playoffs is ranked fifth in the AFCA poll. Meanwhile, in the D2Football.com poll, UT-Permian Basin is ranked No. 3, while Kutztown is ranked No. 4 and Newbery is ranked No. 5. 

The Pack closed out the 2024 season with a 10-2 overall record and earned its 10th all-time RMAC title, including its second straight outright title after finishing league play with a perfect 9-0 record for the second consecutive season, and hosted an NCAA Division II Playoff game for the second straight season.
