WACO, Texas – Colorado State University Pueblo redshirt senior receiver
Reggie Retzlaff (Corona, Calif./Riverside City College) repeated as an American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) NCAA Division II All-American on Wednesday, as the two-time First-Team All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selection earned Second-Team AFCA All-America honors.
Retzlaff, who becomes just the second Pack football player to earn back-to-back AFCA All-America honors since Darius Allen was a first-team selection in both 2013 and 2014, earns his AFCA Second-Team All-America nod after repeating as both a First-Team All-RMAC selection and D2CCA All-Super Region Four selection and being a repeat nominee for the Harlon Hill Trophy.
On the season, Retzlaff ranked second in the league in receiving yards (993) and yards per game (90.3), and led the league in receiving touchdowns (16) and receptions (72), and receptions per game (6.55). He also ranked third in scoring with an average of 8.7 points per game and fifth in all-purpose yards per game (90.3) during the 2025 season.
On the season, Retzlaff, who was the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week and NFF Colorado Chapter Player of the Week following the Colorado School of Mines game, set the school's career marks for receptions (187), receiving yards (3,026) and receiving touchdowns (40), along with setting new single-season school records this season for receptions (68) and touchdowns (15) and had a single-game school record 14 receptions in the 2025 regular season finale against 22nd-ranked Chadron State and is second on the school's all-time scoring chart with 240 points. He recorded two or more touchdown receptions in six games and had four games this season with seven or more receptions.
Retzlaff, who was a nominee for the 2025 Harlon Hill Trophy, leads all Colorado football receivers (all levels) in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. Retzlaff, who is one of two players in school history to record 1,000 or more receiving yards in a season, had a team-best 16 plays of 20 or more yards, including three touchdown receptions of 20 or more yards. At the end of the regular season, Retzlaff, who was named the 2024 RMAC Offensive Player of the Year, closed out the season as the active Division II leader in career touchdown receptions (40) and is fourth among active D-II players in career receiving yards (3,026) and is the D-II active leader in career receiving yards per game (91.7). Additionally, he is seventh among all active D-II players in career touchdowns with 40, which is fourth in the state of Colorado history. He also tallied 11 career games with 100 or more receiving yards, including a school record 241 yards in last season's opener at South Dakota Mines.
The AFCA Division II All-America Selection Committee is made up of three head coaches from each of the AFCA's seven districts, one of whom serves as the district chairman, along with another head coach who serves as the chairman of the selection committee. The coaches in each district are responsible for ranking the top players in their respective districts before a conference call between the district chairmen and the committee chairman, on which the teams are chosen.
Retzlaff is one of seven players from the RMAC named to one of the two 2025 AFCA Division II All-America teams, as he is joined on the second team by Western Colorado senior defensive lineman Ricky Freymond, Chadron State senior linebacker Logan O'Brien, and Colorado School of Mines redshirt freshman long snapper Josh Hildebrand. On the first team, the RMAC players honored were New Mexico Highlands freshman running back Jeffery Jones, Black Hills State redshirt junior receiver TJ Chukwurah, and Chadron State redshirt senior punter Brodie Eisenbraun.
Since 2013, the Pack has had 10 players named AFCA Division II All-Americans, with eight of those players earning first-team recognition and the other two earning second-team accolades. In addition, Retzlaff is the only Pack offensive player to earn All-America honors from the AFCA. In addition, Retzlaff is one of three repeat honorees from last season, along with Central Oklahoma senior offensive lineman Montriel Lee and Freymond.
