Balanced Attack Leads Men's Basketball to Road RMAC Win Over Chadron State

Blair and Sanders Combine for 42 Points, Seven Rebounds and Four Steals in Win Over Eagles

CHADRON, Neb. -  Colorado State University Pueblo men's basketball put together one of its most efficient offensive performances of the 2025-26 season and used a strong second half en route to posting an 89-74 win over Chadron State here Thursday afternoon in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action at the Chicoine Events Center.

With the win, the ThunderWolves improve to 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the RMAC, while Chadron State fell to 2-8 overall and 0-3 in the loss. The 7-2 start to the season is the best for the Pack opening the 2006-07 season with a 7-2 record.

In Thursday's game, which was the Pack's first road since picking up a 72-60 win at Midwestern State on Nov. 15, the Pack posted season highs in field goal percentage (54.9 percent), 3-point field goal percentage (50 percent) and scored 22 points off 10 Chadron State turnovers.

Along with shooting 54.9 percent from the field and 50 percent from the 3-point line for the game, the Pack shot a blistering 60 percent from the field and 55 percent (6-for-11) from the 3-point line and outscored the Eagles, 51-41, in the second half en route to improving to 3-0 on the season. The 51 second half points were also a season high.

The win was also keyed by strong free throw shooting as the Pack went 21-for-25 (84 percent) from the free throw line, including a 15-for-19 effort at the line in the second half. CSC was also strong at the foul line as they were 22-for-29 (75.9 percent) at the line.

Sophomore guard/forward Jordan Blair (Keller, Texas/Keller Central) led the way for the Pack with a career-high 22 points and added five rebounds and three steals. Blair scored 13 of his 22 points in the first half as the Pack led 38-33 at the half.

In addition to Blair, junior guard Dylan Sanders (Aurora, Colo./Pearl River CC) added a career-high 20 points, including an 8-for-9 effort from the free throw line, while sophomore guard Mac Terry (Castle Pines, Colo./South Dakota Mines) chipped in with a season-high 15 points and added four assists and redshirt junior guard Jaden Kennis (Windsor, Colo./MSU Denver) had 12 points in the win, including 5-of-6 free throws over the final 50 seconds of the game.

After taking a 38-33 lead at the half, the Pack blew the game open early in the second half as they opened the half on a 26-11 run to push out to a 22-point lead at 64-42 with 10:26 left in the game. The run was capped by back-to-back treys from freshman guard Bryce Riehl (Colorado Springs, Colo./Mesa Ridge). Riehl's second trey gave the Pack's its largest lead of the game at 22 points.

Following that run, the Eagles responded with a 19-9 run capped by a layup by Isaiah Randolph to cut the Pack's lead to 73-61 with 4:54 left in the game. The Pack, though, answered back with a 7-4 run to extend its lead to 15 points at 80-65 with 1:25 remaining. The run was keyed by back-to-back baskets from junior forward Kyren Allen (Commerce City, Colo./Trinidad State College) and capped by two Sanders free throws.

CSC would score eight of the next 14 points to pull within 86-73 with 38 seconds remaining, but Kennis would make three of his final four free throws to cap the Pack's scoring.

Chadron State was paced offensively by Randolph, who tallied 20 points, while Jadon Cool added 18 points and Jackson Schauer had 14 points in the loss. Cool and Schauer's points came off the bench was CSC held a 32-16 edge in bench points. Luka Djurovic added nine points and game-high 14 rebounds.

The Pack lost the rebounding battle, 31-25, including the Eagles holding a 10-5 edge in offensive boards. CSC scored 15 points off those offensive boards, while the Pack had four second chance points.

Defensively, the Pack forced CSC into 10 turnovers that led to 22 points and held the Eagles to 33 percent shooting (8-for-24) from the 3-point line. CSC also shot 44 percent from the field for the contest.

The Pack had 15 assists on 28 made baskets as Terry had four assists, while senior guard Sam Howery (Colorado Springs, Colo./St. Mary's) and redshirt sophomore forward Ty Adam (Severance, Colo./Severance) each had three assists.

CSU Pueblo will look to keep its strong play on the road going this coming Saturday, Dec. 13 as the Pack travels to Rapid City, S.D., for a 3 p.m. RMAC contest against South Dakota Mines (3-6 overall, 1-1 RMAC). The Hardrockers play host to Colorado Christian on Thursday evening before hosting the Pack on Saturday afternoon.
