Pack WBB Concludes Promising Weekend With Sunday Defeat Before Kicking Off Home Tournament

BILLINGS, Mont. - Colorado State University Pueblo women's basketball concluded the Tipoff Classic at the Trailhead with a 1–2 overall record after falling to the University of Mary, 73–44, on Sunday afternoon in Billings, Montana.

The ThunderWolves, who opened the weekend with a victory on Friday, struggled to find their rhythm offensively in Sunday's finale. CSU Pueblo shot just 25.9 percent from the field and 6.3 percent from beyond the arc, while the Marauders countered with 47.6 percent shooting and nine made three-pointers.

Senior guard Seneya Martinez once again led the Pack in scoring, finishing with 11 points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Martinez capped off an impressive opening weekend in which she scored in double figures in all three contests, averaging 17.6 points per game to pace CSU Pueblo's offense. Her leadership and shot-making ability were constants throughout the tournament, as she proved to be a reliable two-way force on both ends of the floor.

Fellow senior Genesis Sweetwine added nine points, attacking the basket with confidence and showing veteran poise as a key backcourt contributor. Junior Wynter Jones matched her with nine points—all coming from the free-throw line—as she went 9-for-11 at the stripe while collecting four rebounds and a steal. Dasani Nesbit, playing close to home after a standout prep career at Froid High School in Montana, contributed six rebounds and two assists.

Off the bench, Jada Bobb provided a spark with seven points and two rebounds, while Laci Roffle battled defensively and added four boards and a block. Despite their struggles from the perimeter, the Pack stayed aggressive in drawing contact, finishing 15-of-18 (83.3%) from the free-throw line.

Mary jumped out to a 13–8 lead after the first quarter and steadily extended its advantage through each period. The Marauders dominated the interior, outscoring CSU Pueblo 40–20 in the paint and holding a 17–0 advantage in second-chance points. Allison Undlin led all scorers with 19 points and four blocks, while Chloe Pfau chipped in 16 points and nine rebounds for Mary.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Martinez and Sweetwine were named to the All-Tournament team after their superb three games this weekend in Billings.

Following the weekend, CSU Pueblo (1–2) now turns its attention to the home opener next weekend inside Massari Arena, hosting the South Central Regional Crossover. The Pack will look to build on Martinez's stellar scoring consistency and the senior leadership of both Martinez and Sweetwine as they continue developing early-season chemistry.
