Denver, Colo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo volleyball team capped off a dominant weekend of RMAC Power Pod play with a commanding 3–0 sweep (25–12, 25–12, 25–14) over Regis University on Saturday afternoon at Regis Fieldhouse. The win marked the ThunderWolves' second straight victory on the road and improved their overall record to 15–7 (7–3 RMAC).
The Pack, led by first-year head coach and CSU Pueblo alum Jordan Bruere, looked sharp from start to finish, putting together one of their most efficient offensive outings of the season. CSU Pueblo hit an outstanding .384 as a team while limiting Regis to just .103. The ThunderWolves also tallied nine service aces, 48 digs, and six total team blocks in the one-hour, 14-minute victory.
Junior setter Elena Stankovic directed the offense with precision, recording 32 assists while hitting .714 with five kills, three service aces, eight digs, and three total blocks in an all-around performance that fueled the Pack's rhythm and balance. Senior middle hitter Golden Finch was unstoppable at the net, finishing with eight kills on .538 hitting along with a block assist. Junior middle hitter Finja Schul continued her steady play with five kills on .444 hitting and added a service ace and a block assist, while senior outside hitter Caelyn Gunn contributed six kills on .294 hitting and two digs.
The Pack's depth shined as well. Senior Taylor Cary and junior Lily Zwart each added five kills and combined for two blocks, while senior libero Megan Mattingly anchored the defense with 12 digs and two service aces. Defensive specialist Chinaru Inoue added 11 digs and three service aces, keeping the Rangers on their heels from the service line.
As a team, CSU Pueblo built early momentum and never looked back. The Pack dominated the opening frame, hitting .435 with 12 kills and just two errors to take the first set 25–12. They kept the pressure on in the second, converting 16 kills at a .389 clip before closing the match in convincing fashion with a .350 team percentage in the third. Regis had no answers for the Pack's aggressive attack and disciplined defense, mustering only 24 kills in the match.
Regis (3–19, 2–8 RMAC) was led by Braiziah Dixon's seven kills and Isabella Smith's eight kills and seven digs.
The sweep completes a perfect weekend for the ThunderWolves, who also defeated Colorado Christian 3–1 on Friday night. After a tough three-match road stretch earlier this month, CSU Pueblo rediscovered its early-season form, combining efficient attacking with aggressive serving and team defense to reestablish themselves as one of the RMAC's top programs.
With the win, the Pack have now beaten Regis three times this season — twice in conference play and once in pod play — and continue to strengthen their regional résumé heading into the final weeks of the regular season.
CSU Pueblo will remain on the road next weekend, where they'll look to contine on their momentum at New Mexico Highlands and continue their push toward postseason play.
