Volleyball Extends Win Streak To Seven; Take Sole Possession Of First Place In RMAC

PUEBLO, Colo. - The red-hot Colorado State University Pueblo volleyball team kept its winning ways rolling on Tuesday night inside Massari Arena, overcoming an early setback to take down Colorado Christian 3–1 (19–25, 25–16, 25–22, 25–16). The victory extended the ThunderWolves' win streak to seven matches and marked their 11th win in their last 12 outings, propelling the Pack into sole possession of first place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings.

The night didn't begin as planned for the Pack. Colorado Christian came out aggressive, capitalizing on early attack miscues to take the opening set 25–19. But as they've done all season, CSU Pueblo responded with resilience and composure. Behind an electric Massari Arena crowd and an offense that came alive in the second set, the ThunderWolves flipped the momentum and dominated the rest of the way.

Setter Elena Stankovic once again orchestrated the attack with precision, dishing out 41 assists while guiding the Pack to a collective .295 hitting percentage. The junior from Serbia added eight digs and four blocks, setting the tone for a balanced and efficient performance across the lineup.

Caelyn Gunn powered the Pack's offense with 13 kills on a .281 hitting clip, delivering in crucial moments down the stretch, while Taylor Cary matched her output with 13 kills of her own and a team-best .367 hitting percentage. Cary also contributed four blocks in a commanding two-way effort. Finja Schul and Lily Zwart provided steady production at the net, combining for seven kills and key blocks that halted Cougar runs.

Defensively, Megan Mattingly anchored the back row with 17 digs, while Chinaru Inoue added eight more and a perfect passing night in serve receive. The Pack's defensive discipline and blocking presence proved decisive, as CSU Pueblo tallied 14 total team blocks and held the Cougars to a .134 hitting percentage on the night.

By the time the fourth set arrived, the ThunderWolves were in full control. CSU Pueblo raced out to an early lead and never let up, feeding off the energy of their home crowd to close out the match 25–16 and seal another statement win in conference play.

With the victory, CSU Pueblo improves to 11–4 overall and 5–0 in RMAC play, standing alone atop the conference standings. Colorado Christian falls to 9–6 and 4–1. The Pack's seven-match win streak marks their longest since the 2021 championship season and highlights the depth, balance, and chemistry fueling their recent surge.

The ThunderWolves will look to keep their momentum rolling this Friday at 6 p.m. when they welcome Colorado School of Mines to Massari Arena for Alumni Day, as the Pack aim to extend their win streak to eight and continue their climb as one of the RMAC's hottest teams.
