GOLDEN, Colo. (Oct. 30, 2025) – The Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team earned a dramatic 3-2 victory Thursday night over Colorado School of Mines at Stermole Soccer Stadium in Golden. The win improves the ThunderWolves to 8-2-7 overall and 4-2-3 in RMAC play with one match remaining in the regular season.
Logan Cozier (R-So., Pickering, Ontario, Canada) netted the game-winner with just 17 seconds on the clock, finishing a cross from Nick Cenek (Gr., Peoria, Ill.) to seal the road win for the Pack.
The Pack took the lead in the 31st minute when Matty Parkes (So., Newcastle, England) connected on a header off a long cross from Jose Peris Gimeno (Fr., Burriana, Spain), giving CSU Pueblo a 1-0 advantage.
After halftime, Brandon Sanchez (Jr., Tucson, Ariz.) doubled the lead in the 54th minute with his first goal of the season, burying a strike to the upper 90 off an assist from Yahel Paramo Caudillo (Jr., Leon, Mexico).
Mines responded with two quick goals midway through the second half to even the score at 2-2, but the ThunderWolves had the final word. In the 90th minute, Cozier raced down the far side while Cenek maneuvered through the defense and found the wide open Cozier who struck a one-timer, scoring his first goal of the season.
Goalkeeper Tristan Whitlock (R-Sr., Lincoln, Neb.) made three saves in the match as the Pack outshot Mines 16-11 and held a 9-5 advantage in shots on goal.
With the win, the ThunderWolves vault to third place in the RMAC standings and have 15 conference points with one match to go.
CSU Pueblo wraps up the regular season on Wednesday against UCCS at Gonzales Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. as the Pack looks to solidify its postseason position in the RMAC Tournament.
