ThunderWolves Celebrate Senior Day with Strong Defensive Effort Against No. 20 Colorado Mesa

PUEBLO, Colo. (Oct. 26, 2025) — The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team wrapped up its home schedule Sunday afternoon, falling 2-0 to No. 20 Colorado Mesa University on Senior Day at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) action.

Before the match, Pack Head Coach John Constable and his staff and players celebrated the careers of four seniors who are finishing their playing careers at the conclusion of this season.

Evie Wysong (Bel Air, Maryland), Cameron Farthing (Coventry, England), Mara Ganje (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) and Carlia Johnson (The Valley, Anguilla) each were recognized in a pregame ceremony.

After holding the nationally ranked Mavericks scoreless through the opening 70 minutes, the ThunderWolves' defensive stand was finally broken late in the second half. Colorado Mesa broke through in the 73rd minute when they connected on a shot to put the visitors on the board. The Mavericks added an insurance goal in the 87th minute to seal the match.

CSU Pueblo goalkeeper Miya Begay (Fr., West Valley City, Utah) was outstanding in net, collecting nine saves while facing 21 total shots, including a penalty kick stop in the first half to keep the score level heading into halftime.

The Pack managed two shots in the contest, with Johnson registering the team's lone shot on goal. Defenders Caytlynn Garland (Jr., Gillette, Wyo.) and Wysong each logged significant minutes in anchoring a disciplined CSU Pueblo backline that limited clear looks for the Mavericks much of the day.

Colorado Mesa (11-2-1, 7-0-1 RMAC) outshot the ThunderWolves 21-2 and held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.

With the result, CSU Pueblo moves to 3-7-5 overall and 2-4-3 in RMAC play.
