PUEBLO, Colo. (October 1, 2025) - Colorado State University Pueblo's
Yelena Travica (Jr., Winnipeg, Manitoba) and
Bryson Torrie (Jr., Denver, Colo.) have been named Pack Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by Chick-fil-A.
Travica won three matches at the ITA South Central Regionals. She won her match of pool play against Texas A&M-Kingsville's Yasmin El Fadili 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) and later in the 'B' Draw, Travica and teammate
Fernanda Martinez earned a win by default when Lubbock Christian's duo withdrew.
The duo continued on and competed on day two and she finished doubles play with a 1-2 record while earning a 2-1 showing in singles 'B' Draw.
Up next, the tennis team enter the break and will take the next couple of months to train before returning to action Feb. 1 at University of New Mexico.
On the men's side, Torrie helped lead Pack football in a 55-7 win over Adams State.
Torrie scored two touchdowns as he forced a fumble on a 7-yard run and returned the ball 42 yards for a touchdown. He would record his second touchdown after picking off a pass and returning it five yards for the score.
He is the only player in Division II this season to score two defensive touchdowns in the same game, and is believed to be the only Pack player to score two defensive touchdowns in the same game since 2008.
Along with his two touchdowns, Torrie finished the game with three tackles, including two solo stops. In the game, the Pack defense forced five turnovers as they picked off four passes and forced a fumble, and Torrie scored a total of 12 of the Pack's 55 points.
Up next, Pack football goes on the road this week and will play Saturday at New Mexico Highlands. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. in Las Vegas, N.M.
