SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (September 13, 2024) - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team remained unbeaten on the young season after playing to a 1-1 draw at Cal State San Bernardino on Friday at Premier Field.

On a day both teams had to play through poor air quality conditions due to wildfires in the region, they went toe-to-toe for a quality match-up.

Abby Menk (So., Delano, Minn.) scored her first goal of the season in the 39th minute after entering the game ten minutes earlier, and received a ball from Carlia Johnson (R-Jr., The Valley, Anguilla) to put the ThunderWolves on top going to halftime.

In the match, CSU Pueblo fired five shots and four landed on goal against 16 from the Coyotes.

Caytlynn Garland (So., Gillette, Wyo.) led the Pack offense with two shots on goal.

Starting in the net for the ThunderWolves, Jacqueline Dominguez (R-Sr., Watkins, Colo.) had a strong first half and made three saves to help keep CSUSB off the scoreboard.

In the second period, the Coyotes came out of the locker room with high energy and fired two SOG, earned two corners and was called offside all within the first six minutes of the half.

The home team was able to get one in the back of the net with the equalizer score in the 60'.

After the score, CSUSB continued to pressure the Pack defense and they stepped to the occasion and fended off several shots over the next 20 minutes and Dominguez was able to gather and keep the Coyotes out of the net.

In the 82' minute, freshman Elaina Leitner (Longmont, Colo.) came on to play and help maintain the score.

Over the last seven minutes, CSU Pueblo recorded one more SOG and CSUSB pressured Leitner who faced three shots and a corner for the Pack.

CSU Pueblo (1-0-2) stays in California for a Sunday match-up at Cal State San Marcos starting at 12:30 (MT) inside The Cage in San Marcos, California.
