Women's Golf Sits In Eighth Place of RJGA Palm Valley Classic

Led by Kylie Severin's two over 74

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's golf team sits in eighth place at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic hosted by Western New Mexico University at Palm Valley Golf Club.

The Pack posted a team score of plus 13 (301) on day one of the 36-hole event and are in the hunt for a top-two finish in the event. West Texas A&M University is running away with the event on day one with a team score of 10 under par (278).

CSU Pueblo was led by senior Kylie Severin (Aurora, Colo./Vista Peak Prep), who shot a two over 74 in the first round. Severin is coming off winning last week's Southern Colorado Open, and runner-up in Tucson earlier this week.

Freshman Lisa Ekberg (Kingsbacka, Sweeden) shot a round of three over par 75 in round one to finish one stroke back of Severin. Sophomore Freya Constable (Edinburgh, Scotland/Boroghmuir) also shot a round of three over par 75 to tie Ekberg.

Rounding out CSU Pueblo was junior Anju Ogi (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West) and junior Zoey Rodriguez (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo South). Ogi shot a round of five over 77, while Rodriguez shot a round of eight over 80.

CSU Pueblo is back in action tomorrow for round two of the RJGA Palm Valley Classic with a shotgun start, beginning at 7:00 AM, Pacific Coast Time.
