LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's golf team remains in first place after day two of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Henderson, Nev.
On an extremely windy day in Southern Nevada, the Pack survived the day, grinding out a score of 19 over par (307) to retain their ten-stroke lead over Colorado Mesa. The Pack had the lowest score of the day along with Colorado Mesa and Colorado Christian.
Boulder Creek Golf Club is playing at 6055 yards this week on the par 72 track.
CSU Pueblo was led once again by sophomore phenom
Freya Constable (Edinburgh, Scotland/Boroghmuir) as she shot a steady round of three over par (75). Constable remains in first place individually.
Freshman
Lisa Ekberg (Kingsbacks, Sweeden) shot another solid round today as she fired her second straight score of three over par (75). Pueblo native
Zoey Rodriguez (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo South) fired an impressive five over round (77), as her and Ekberg are tied for fifth place individually.
RMAC Player of the Year hopeful
Kylie Severin (Aurora, Colo./Vista Peak Prep) shot a round of eight over (80), but found momentum on the back nine of Monday's round as she only shot a two over 38.
The Pack were rounded out by junior
Anju Ogi (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West) as she shot a round of 12 over (84).
FINAL ROUND
CSU Pueblo takes a 10-stroke lead into Tuesday's third and final round as the Pack look to bring home their second straight RMAC title.
Tammy Lim's squad will be in the final pairing, as the Pack will be paired with Colorado Mesa and Regis.
