ThunderWolves shutout at No. 8 Colorado Christian

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (March 22, 2024) - The Colorado State University Pueblo softball team dropped a pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games at No. 8 Colorado Christian, falling 8-0 (5 inn.) in game one and lost an 7-0 decision in the nightcap.

The ThunderWolves recorded eight hits on the day and was led by Marissa Robertson (So., Rocklin, Calif.) and her two hits in game one.

Game one recap
In the opener, Colorado Christian scored all of their runs over two innings and got on the board with a steal home in the second along with a ground out on the infield produced a second run.

The third inning CCU's potent offense scored six runs on six hits and reached the eight-run rule.

CSU Pueblo left five runners on base and had three players reach second base.

The Pack's best scoring chance came in the fifth inning when they left two runners on base before the Cougars ended the game with a ground out on the infield.

Game two recap
Game two saw the ThunderWolves leave six runners on base and produced four hits.

A five-run second inning for CCU was all the runs needed as they came away with a 7-0 shutout win.

Caitlyn Cole (So., Merced, Calif.), Emma Case (Fr., Loveland, Colo.), Taylor Brower (So., Vacaville, Calif.) and Juliannah Jimenez (Fr., Elk Grove, Calif.) each recorded a hit.

In the circle, Robertson took the loss and drops to 3-6 after she allowed seven runs and two earned on five hits from the Cougars.

Up next
CSU Pueblo will close out the series with two more games on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. at All Star Park in Lakewood.
