GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado State University Pueblo baseball squad is ranked once again by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association in the most recent South Central Region Poll.
CSU Pueblo comes in the number six spot in the polls. The South Central Region is composed of teams from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and the Lone Star Conference. The top six teams in the poll at the end of the season qualify for the postseason.
The NCBWA is not an official NCAA Baseball ranking system.
West Texas A&M remains in the top spot in the poll. The Buffaloes received 80 points, and eight first place votes to go along with their 19-7 record.
The Defending NCAA Division II National Champions, the Angelo State Rams remain in second place with 66 points and a 20-9 record.
Both West Texas A&M and Angelo State are represented by the Lone Star Conference.
Colorado Mesa University is the highest ranked RMAC School in the poll. The Mavericks received 61 points to go along with their 13-8 record.
Lubbock Christian University from the LSC if fourth with an 18-8 record, receiving 59 points. UT Tyler from the LSC is fifth with a 15-11 record, receiving 44 points.
CSU Pueblo is the final team in the top six. The Pack have a record of 16-8, and received 38 points.
Regis University from the RMAC is sitting just on the outside ranked seventh. The Rangers have a record of 12-9-1, and took home 36 points.
Texas A&M-Kingsville from the LSC received 29 points with their 17-13 record to bring home the eight spot, while Colorado School of Mines is ninth, receiving 11 points.
Arkansas-Fort Smith from the LSC rounds out the poll with a 12-12 record, receiving seven points.
