PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's basketball team won their third straight game on Friday evening, defeating Westminster (Utah) 75-61 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play at Massari Arena.
With the win, the Pack improve to 16-11 overall and 11-8 in the RMAC, while Westminster falls to 3-21 overall and 1-18 in the RMAC. The victory helps the Pack remain tied for seventh in the league standings with Colorado Christian with just one week remaining in the regular season.
The Pack had five players in double-figures to cruise to victory. A hot second half shooting performance mixed with stifling defense were key to the win for
Tommie Johnson's squad.
CSU Pueblo was led by their double-double machine, redshirt junior forward
Alisha Little (Aurora, Colo./Northern Colorado) as she recorded a NCAA leading 20th double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Little also dished out four assists, three steals, and added three blocks.
Graduate Student guard
Romola Dominguez (Denver, Colo./Central Arkansas) had a gritty performance as she scored 10 points, pulled down five rebounds, and dished out three assists.
Junior guard
Tomia Johnson (Colorado Springs, Colo./Florida Gulf Coast) continued her fine play, scoring 10 points and dishing six assists.
Redshirt junior forward
Autumn Watts (Centennial, Colo./McNeese State) continued to be a great compliment to Little in the frontcourt, scoring 10 points and pulling down three rebounds.
Junior guard
Landri Hudson (Aurora, Colo./Wyoming) added more balanced scoring as she scored 10 points and dished out three assists.
Despite the 14-point win for the Pack, CSU Pueblo fell behind early in the game, trailing by nine early in the game. Westminster opened the game on a 12-3 run with the only points coming from Little and Johnson. The ThunderWolves responded on an 8-0 run driven by Watts and freshman forward
Leilani Love (Albuquerque, N.M./Albuquerque) to make the score 12-11. The Pack took their first lead of the game with a couple of free throws from Love; however, Westminster regained the lead and took an 18-15 lead going into the second.
CSU Pueblo opened the second quarter on a 7-0 run, sparked by Little and Hudson to take a 22-18 lead. CSU Pueblo opened their lead out to five at 28-23. Westminster was able to counter with a 5-0 run to tie the game. CSU Pueblo was able to take a 31-30 lead going into halftime after a bucket from Little and a free throw from freshman guard

CSU Pueblo did their damage in the third as they stormed out the gates. Both teams went back and forth for most of the quarter, but with 3:00 minutes to go in the third and a 46-43 lead, the Pack proceeded to end the quarter on a 10-0 run starting with junior guard Shamara Henderson (Denver, Colo./Cowley County CC) scoring off a fast break, Dominguez hitting a three, and then Little and Hudson polishing it off. CSU Pueblo outscored Westminster 25-13 in the quarter and took a 56-43 lead going into the final frame.
Up 13 going into the fourth, all the Pack needed to do was go on cruise control and they did just that. CSU Pueblo led 65-52 with 3:41 and stretched out the lead to 16 at 75-59 with 1:15 to go in the game. Head Coach
