Football Hosting Minnesota State in Second Round of NCAA Division II Playoffs

Tickets Now On Sale for Saturday's Second Round Playoff Game

PUEBLO, Colo. – The seventh-ranked and top-seeded Colorado State Pueblo football team will host Minnesota State on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. MT at the ThunderBowl in the second round of the 2024 NCAA Division II Football Playoffs.
 
Tickets for Saturday's playoff game with the Mavericks are currently available for purchase ONLINE or in person at the CSU Pueblo Athletics ticket office inside Massari Arena. Season ticket holders are asked to call (719) 549-2050 to purchase reserved tickets. The CSU Pueblo Athletics ticket office will be open the week of Thanksgiving from Monday, Nov. 25 through Wednesday, Nov. 27 with hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, and hours of 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.
 
Prices for reserved seats tickets are $20 for chairback seats, while bleacher seats are priced at $15 and tickets on ThunderHill are available for $9. CSU Pueblo students are free with a student ID compliments of Pepsi. Tickets for Seniors (Ages 65+) are available for $12, while children's tickets (Ages 5-17) are available for $5.
 
Minnesota State tickets are reserved in Section W on the visitor side of the ThunderBowl and those can also be purchased either online or by calling the ticket office.
 
The ThunderWolves (10-1 overall, 9-0 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) won their ninth all-time RMAC title and first outright title since 2014 this season. The Pack earned the top seed in Super Region Four and a first-round playoff bye, while Minnesota State edged 15th-ranked and No. 4 seeded Augustana Saturday afternoon on a field goal by Matthew Jaeger as time expired to earn the victory and improve to 17-14 all-time in the NCAA playoffs and advance to the second round for the first time since 2022.
 
Minnesota State is 9-3 on the season following its first-round win at Augustana as they finished tied for second in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and closed the regular season by losing two of its final four games.

The Pack and Minnesota State have met four times previously in the NCAA Playoffs as the Mavericks hold a 3-1 edge all-time against the Pack with CSU Pueblo's lone win being a 13-0 win in the National Championship game of the 2014 Playoffs. The teams last met each other in the playoffs in 2019 when the Mavericks earned a 35-7 second round win in Mankato, Minn.
 
On the other side of the Super 4 Regional, No. 2 seeded and 10th-ranked Western Colorado picked up its the program's first-ever playoff win with a 28-21 victory over 25th-ranked Central Washington, while Bemidji State earned a 24-14 upset win at No. 3 seeded and 21st-ranked Angelo State. Bemidji State (9-3) will play at Western Colorado (11-1) next Saturday at 1 p.m. MT in Gunnison, Colo. The winner of that game will meet the winner of the CSU Pueblo-Minnesota State game in the third round of the playoffs on Dec. 7.
