Season Comes To An End For Pack Volleyball With Loss To Regis In RMAC Quarterfinals

DENVER, Colo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo Volleyball team dropped the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Quarterfinals to Regis University three games to one on Tuesday night, most likely being the final game of the season for the ThunderWolves.

With the loss, the ThunderWolves end the season with a 16-11 overall record, while sporting a final 9-5 record in RMAC play. The ThunderWovles came into the night as the No. 5 seed in the RMAC Tournament, most likely needing to win the conference tournament to reach the NCAA Tournament.

Regis improves to 14-13 with the win. The Rangers also had a 9-5 RMAC record, however the game was played in Denver due to Regis having the head to head tiebreaker over the ThunderWolves.

The Pack were led by their Big 3 on the offensive end. All-American Sadie Scoville (Pleasant Grove, Utah/Pleasant Grove) led the way for the ThunderWolves with 13 kills.

Rayliene Joens (Elkhorn, Neb./Winona State) ended her collegiate career with a bang, finishing with 11 kills.

Kaitlyn Hall (Colorado Springs, Colo./Falcon) finished her redshirt-freshman season a contender for Freshman of the Year, ending with nine kills on the evening.

Kendall Schmitz (Lee's Summit, Mo./UAFS) finished the season with a double-double, recording 19 assists and 14 digs.

Hallie Hewlett (Bountiful, Utah/Bountiful) finished her fantastic freshman campaign, ending with 21 assists to lead the Pack.

WORDS FROM HEAD COACH AUSTIN ALBERS

"Our ladies played hard tonight. Defensively we disrupted their attack and gave ourselves to extend the match, but just did not capitalize when we needed to seize the opportunities."

Albers also said, "the last one always stings, but we have a lot to be proud of. In a season that had plenty of speed bumps, this team stuck together and had a successful season. We found a way to grow the culture and relationships that alowed us to battle adversity. We grinded out 16 victories for just the fifth time in twenty seven seasons. A lot to be proud of, and a lot to build on."
