Volleyball Set For RMAC Pod Weekend In South Dakota

RAPID CITY, S.D. - The Colorado State University Pueblo Volleyball Team is headed North to South Dakota to take on Chadron State College, and South Dakota Mines in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Pod play.

Neither match will count toward their RMAC record, but will still count for overall record, along with regional rankings.

CSU Pueblo sits in sixth place in the RMAC at 6-4 in league play. The ThunderWolves are 12-8 on the season. 

ABOUT THE PACK

CSU Pueblo is without their leader Sadie Scoville (Pleasant Grove, Utah/Pleasant Grove), as the 2023 All-American is nursing an ankle injury. 

Scoville still leads the team in kills despite missing the last few games, with 192 kills, hitting .254. 

Kaitlyn Hall (Colorado Springs, Colo./Falcon) leads the active ThunderWolves with 169 kills, while hitting .271. 

Defensively the Pack are led by Megan Mattingly (Phoenix, Ariz./Greenway), leading the team in digs with 156. 

Macy Wood (Sandy, Utah/Sandy) leads the team in block with 44. 

Head Coach Austin Albers is in his sixth season leading the Pack, and is second in all-time wins with 89.

ABOUT CHADRON STATE

Chadron State comes into the match at 4-17 overall, and 0-10 in RMAC play.

The Eagles are led on the offensive end by Alejandra Briseno, who leads the squad with 178 kills, while hitting .187. 

Chadron State is led on the defensive end by Alondra Hernandez, who has 365 digs on the season, while Aiyana Fujiyama leads the team in blocks with 72.

The Eages are led by Head Coach Jennifer Stadler who is in her sixth season leading Chadron State.

In the previous matchup, the ThunderWolves swept the Eagles three games to none. 

ABOUT SOUTH DAKOTA MINES

The Hardrockers come into Saturday's Pod Game with a 13-8 record overall, and 7-3 in RMAC play, one game ahead of CSU Pueblo.

South Dakota Mines is led by Alessandra Meoni on the offensive end, leading the team with 321 kills, while hitting an impressive .324.

On the defensive end, the Hardrockers are led by Hannah Benes who leads the team with 376 digs, while Meoni leads the team in blocks with 50. 

South Dakota Mines is led by Head Coach Lauren Prochazka, who is in her seventh season leading the Hardrockers.
