DENVER, Colo. (October 3, 2024) - The No. 20 ranked Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team returned to the win column after posting a 3-1 victory over MSU Denver on the first night of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play, Thursday at The Assembly Athletic Complex.
The ThunderWolves received scores from
Caio Oliveira (Sr., Espigao d'Oeste, Brazil),
Tobi Osifodunrin (Sr., Brighton, Colo.) and
Joey Joiner (Sr., Westminster, Colo.) all provided scores in the win.

Jose Bustamante (Jr., Davie, Fla.), Tobi and Joey all executed tonight with goals and assists which is great to see. We worked very hard throughout the game and deserved the victory. Caio also scored a fantastic goal."
Bustamante,
Ignatius DeMark (Sr., Phoenix, Ariz.), and
George Tidmarsh (So., Birmingham, England) all provided assists on each goal scored.
In the match, CSU Pueblo registered 14 shots including nine in the first half and earned a season-high 11 corners in the game.
Oliveira started the scoring with his team-high fifth goal of the season during the 23rd minute after receiving a pass from Bustamante to put the Pack ahead early.
At the break, CSU Pueblo led 9-4 in shots and earned six corners. The stout ThunderWolves defense limited the Roadrunners to only four shots and no corner kicks through the first forty-five minutes.
The score went unchanged into the second half until MSU Denver was able to find the back of the net in the 78th minute evened the score at 1-1 with just over twenty minutes showing on the clock.
The continued pressure put forth by the ThunderWolves was rewarded in the 83rd minute when DeMark hit a cross centered in front of the net and Osifodunrin was able to finish for the go-ahead goal.
Moments later, CSU Pueblo's offense added a third goal after stellar play between Tidmarsh and Joiner resulted in the goal.
At the net,
Ruben Volkert (Gr., Baden-Württemberg, Germany) made two saves and allowed one goal against five SOG.
CSU Pueblo (6-2-1, 1-0 RMAC) stays on the road and will play Sunday at Colorado School of Mines starting at Noon at Stermole Stadium in Golden.
