SALT LAKE CITY (October 25, 2024) - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team began a two-game road trip over the western slope and fell 1-0 at Westminster on Friday at Dumke Field.
The ThunderWolves registered six shots in the game and two SOG.
Cortney Cowles (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) and
Sydney Lasater (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) accounted for both of the Pack's shots on goal.
CSU Pueblo fired three shots in each half and the offense earned two corners.
The offense created chances at the net and the best scoring chance of the first half came in the 31st minute after the ThunderWolves earned a corner and kept possession in the offensive zone.
Cameron Farthing (Jr., Coventry, England) fired a shot wide of the net and Lasater hit a laser shot at the net that was saved by Westminster goalkeeper Brooklyn Northcutt.
The Griffins took a 1-0 lead after they got on the board with 95 seconds left in the half.Â
At the break, Westminster had six shots against three from the Pack.
Trailing by one entering the second half, Pack goalkeeper
Elaina Leitner (Fr., Longmont, Colo.) made one of her seven saves to keep the ThunderWolves close and the Pack responded with a shot on goal from Cowles in the 50th minute.
The next best scoring chance for the ThunderWolves came with fifteen minutes left in the game and a shot from
Abby Menk (So., Delano, Minn.) hit the crossbar and the loose ball was recovered by the Griffins.

CSU Pueblo (3-8-3, 2-5-1 RMAC) will finish the weekend Sunday at Colorado Mesa. Kickoff is set for Noon in Grand Junction.
