PUEBLO, Colo. (October 17, 2024) - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer suffered a 1-0 loss against Regis University on Thursday at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
The ThunderWolves were led offensively by senior captain
Cortney Cowles (Colorado Springs, Colo.) with three shots and one SOG.
Sydney Lasater (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) and
Caytlynn Garland (So., Gillette, Wyo.) both finished with two shots, both landing on frame.
The Pack battled Regis to a scoreless tie through the first 45 minutes and at the break, CSU Pueblo registered two shots in the first half and allowed three shots to Regis.
In the second half, CSU Pueblo's offense came alive after a chat in the locker room and made two quick shots including a flurry of three shots in the 53rd minute.
Following the ThunderWolves attack, the Rangers earned a corner and found the back of the net following a scramble at the net to give Regis a 1-0 lead.
Over the final 20 minutes, CSU Pueblo managed three shots on goal including in the final seven minutes and RU Goalkeeper Grace Glover played well and saved both shots and totaled nine in the game.
At the net,
Elaina Leitner (Fr., Longmont, Colo.) made three saves and faced six shots and four SOG.
CSU Pueblo (2-7-3, 1-4-1 RMAC) will remain at home and host Black Hills State on Sunday starting at 11 a.m. at Gonzales Stadium.
