PUEBLO, Colo. (October 13, 2024) - The Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team opened a three-game homestand with a 1-0 shutout win over Colorado Christian in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action on Sunday at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
Team captain
Shjon Andrews (Gr., Longmont, Colo.) scored the only goal of the game in the 26' after a throw in from
Ignatius DeMark (Sr., Phoenix, Ariz.) landed inside the box and Andrews found a loose ball and put a header into the back of the right half of the net for the one goal lead.
It is Andrews' fifth goal of the year.
Reigning RMAC Defensive Player of the Week, DeMark earned his sixth assist of the season.
In the game, CSU Pueblo out shot CCU 11-5 and was led by four shots from Andrews.
Tobi Osifodunrin (Sr., Brighton, Colo.) finished with three shots and one SOG.
At the net,
Ruben Volkert (Gr., Baden-Württemberg, Germany) had another outstanding game and stood tall against five total shots and zero SOG from the Cougars.
The ThunderWolves recorded six corners and allowed one to CCU.
CSU Pueblo (8-2-1, 3-0-0 RMAC) will stay home next week and host Adams State on Thursday at 7p.m. after the Pack women's soccer team take Regis at 4 p.m., both games will be at Gonzales Stadium.
