ThunderWolves take down Rangers on Senior Day

PUEBLO, Colo. (May 6, 2023) - The Colorado State University Pueblo baseball team celebrated Senior Day with an 8-6 victory over Regis to close out the regular season on Saturday at Rawlings Field.

The ThunderWolves honored eight seniors in a pre-game ceremony.

In the game, four players recorded two hits led by Zac Hanenberg (Sr., Canon City, Colo.) who went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and a run.

CSU Pueblo got out to an early lead and effective pitching throughout the middle innings carried the Pack to victory.

The ThunderWolves got on the board in the home half of the second, after Kysen Howard (So., Overland Park, Kan.) was hit by the pitch and got into scoring position after swiping second base.

Noah Hennings (Sr., Draper, Utah) smacked a triple down the right field line, scoring Howard.

The Pack manufactured another run later in the inning on a groundout on the infield.

Regis got on the board in the third with a single run.

The Pack responded with three runs on two hits. Hanenberg hit a two-run single and the third run scored on a wild pitch.

CSU Pueblo scored single runs in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, highlighted by RBI hits by Reggie Williams (Sr., Castle Rock, Colo.) and Howard.

Luke Ruby (Fr., Fort Collins, Colo.) picked up the win on the hill and pitched 5.2 innings, allowed six runs and fanned two batters.

Owen Rudolphi (So., Eureka, Mo.) came on to pitch during the sixth and gave up no runs and one hit in 3.1 innings pitched.

CSU Pueblo (21-29, 17-15 RMAC) will next turn its attention to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament set to begin Wednesday at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction.
