Roadrunners race past ThunderWolves

DENVER, Colo. (March 5, 2023) - The Colorado State University Pueblo softball team lost both ends of a doubleheader at MSU Denver, falling 11-0 (5 inn.) and 9-1 (5 inn.) at MSU Denver on Sunday at Assembly Athletic Complex.

On the day, CSU Pueblo managed five hits by five different and stranded ten runners on base in two games against the Roadrunners.

In game one, the ThunderWolves put traffic on the bases in the first and reached base on a hit by pitch to leadoff hitter Raelynn Rogers (So., Surprise, Ariz.) and a walk issued to Anna Novak-Palomar (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.).

Caitlyn Cole (Fr., Merced, Calif.) was left on base after she hit a single with one out in the third.

The Roadrunners built a ten-run lead through three innings including scoring seven runs in the third to put the game away for starting pitcher Audrey Burt.

During the series finale, Novak-Palomar singled home Rogers and left two runners on base during the first at bat for the Pack to go ahead 1-0.

CSU Pueblo recorded its fourth hit on a single to right field by Seaerra Fuentes Arellano (Sr., Ewa Beach, Hawai'i).

The offense went silent over the last three innings before the Roadrunners erupted for nine runs and two errors by the Pack to seal the win by the eight-run rule.

CSU Pueblo (6-13, 1-11 RMAC) remains on the road next week and will open a four-game Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series at Fort Lewis beginning Saturday at Noon in Durango.
