COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 12, 2023) - The Colorado State University Pueblo baseball squad earned a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series win after beating University of Colorado Colorado Springs 12-4 on Sunday at Mountain Lion Field.

The ThunderWolves picked up their third win of the weekend behind a 4-for-5 and four RBI day the plate from Brady Prewitt (Jr., Raytown, Mo.).

Lead-off hitter Reggie Williams (Sr., Castle Rock, Colo.) finished with four RBI and one double for the Pack.

CSU Pueblo scored all of its runs starting in the fifth inning, including putting up five-runs in the seventh.

Kysen Howard (So., Overland Park, Kan.) and Elijah Borjas (Jr., Lakewood, Colo.) each finished with three hits. Six Pack players finished with multiple hits in the game.

The ThunderWolves went down 2-0 until getting on the board on an RBI-double in the top half of the fifth by Prewitt. 

In their next at-bat, CSU Pueblo's Kolton Miller (So., Parker, Colo.) grounded out on the infield, allowing the second run to cross for the ThunderWolves.

Later in the frame, Miller added two more RBI when he smacked a double into the right center field gap and give the Pack their first lead, 4-3.

In the seventh, Cole Knightly (R-Jr., Solvang, Calif.) recorded an RBI-single and later, with the bases loaded, Williams capped the scoring and hit a 3-run double down the left field line to give the Pack an 8-3 cushion.

During the eighth, Williams came to the plate again with the bases juiced and took a hit by pitch to collect another RBI.

In their last at-bat, the Pack added two more runs on a throwing error on the defense and a groundout on the infield.

UCCS went down in order in the ninth, closing out the 12-4 Pack win.

Nick Perry (Jr., Denton, Tex.) picked up the win and improves to 1-1 on the year after he went 5.0 innings and allowed three runs and finished with six strikeouts.

CSU Pueblo (5-13, 3-1 RMAC) returns home and will host New Mexico Highlands next week in a four-game RMAC series starting Friday at 5 p.m. at Rawlngs Field.
