LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo women's volleyball concluded its two-match road swing here Saturday evening by posting a hard-fought four-set victory over Colorado Christian (25-15, 23-25, 25-22, 25-18) in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action at the CCU Event Center.
The victory was the third straight for the ThunderWolves to improve its overall record to 8-10 and 6-2 in the RMAC, while CCU fell to 7-11 overall and 3-5 in the league. Saturday's win came about 48 hours after the Pack earned a four-set win at Chadron State.
"We love a hard-fought win to end another weekend on the road. CCU gave us everything we could handle and our ladies stayed the course and played some good volleyball down the stretch. These types of matches are bad for the blood pressure but great for our growth as a team. I'm proud of our fortitude on the road this weekend as we picked up two huge RMAC victories," CSU Pueblo women's volleyball coach
Austin Albers said. "As we hit the halfway mark in conference play, we're looking like we're finding some ways to compete with consistency. Our ladies are starting to act like professionals and carry themselves with more poise and toughness. Win or lose, seeing them mature as competitors and teammates has been the real joy and is making it more fun to go to battle with this group every day. I'm super proud of them."
